Chaves County

Chaves County in New Mexico is the home of Roswell, one of the most famous places in the world for enthusiasts of the unexplained, including unexplained flying objects. It is believed by many that an alien spacecraft and occupant crashed into the desert near Roswell in the summer of 1947. Since then, the incident has inspired many science fiction writers, conspiracy theories and a booming UFO-related tourism industry.
