Looking to get active outdoors? The City of Lethbridge wants to help you with that! With a focus on active lifestyles and healthy living, The City of Lethbridge has 6 outdoor fitness areas across the city.
The HELIOS and APOLLO outdoor multigyms were installed at Nicholas Sheran Park at the beginning of the summer, with a grand opening on June 9th. This park features approximately 7km of trails around a lake, and gets a lot of traffic, including families with strollers, joggers, walkers, and cyclists.
The new outdoor fitness equipment has provided great opportunities for outdoor summer fitness classes and demonstrations, and is used by organizations such as Active Lethbridge to help users learn how to get a full body workout using the HELIOS (with 7 exercise stations) or the APOLLO (with 12 exercise stations) in a circuit training format. Having a single piece of outdoor fitness equipment for multiple simultaneous users and a variety of exercises provides great flexibility for users of all fitness levels and maximizes the use of lake-side space at the park.
