A Community-Driven Outdoor Fitness Park Built Through Public-Private Partnership
The MOVE Outdoor Fitness Park in Huntsville, Ontario, demonstrates how thoughtful public-private collaboration can bring innovative recreation projects to life faster, smarter, and with lasting impact.
The vision began with the TriMuskoka Triathlon Club, a passionate local organization committed to creating free, publicly accessible outdoor fitness gyms for residents of all ages. Recognizing the long-term community value of the concept, the Town of Huntsville partnered in the initiative.
Each partner played a clearly defined role. The Town provided land, long-term oversight, and site management. TriMuskoka led fundraising efforts, community engagement, and project advocacy. Outdoor-Fit contributed expertise in functional outdoor fitness design, proper exercise biomechanics, accessibility, and durable equipment engineering.
This focused division of responsibility allowed the project to advance efficiently, overcoming the common budget, staffing, and prioritization challenges that often delay public recreation initiatives. The result is a community-driven fitness park that supports strength, mobility, and daily movement while serving as a vibrant social hub.
