The Midwest City Parks and Recreation Department recently purchased a HELIOS outdoor-fit exercise system, located at the south-west entrance to the Regional Park trail system.
Fran Gilles, Parks and Recreation Department supervisor said that the purchase was a continuation of the department’s commitment to a quality way of life in Midwest City. “This equipment is a great addition to our parks system and will hopefully provide a useful purpose to our residents,” Gilles said.
Over the past several months, the city of Midwest City has been emphasizing wellness and fitness among its employees by starting exercise classes and sports teams. This purchase fits well with this emphasis, according to Gilles.
