Top Ten Workout Songs
Spotify has announced the most popular workout songs of the year - Eminem and Rihanna’s hit, “The Monster,” has topped Spotify’s list of the most popular workout songs in the U.S., while Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’s “Can’t Hold Us” is the global favorite, appearing on more workout playlists than any other song on Earth. Looks like this really is his moment!
The digital music provider (and party music savior) released some interesting tidbits with their rankings. Apparently, pump-up tracks like Eminem’s “Till I Collapse” and the “Rocky” classic “Eye of the Tiger” featured prominently on men’s playlists, while women were more likely to pick pop music like Rihanna. Spotify also found that women were more likely to pick music they could listen to synchronously (i.e. songs they can exercise to in time to the beat), which supports research into the subject. Who knew?
